An International artist that has toured Europe, America, Russia and Mongolia. She is a composer / performer specialising in extended vocal techniques. Her research into vocal performance has taken her to Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, (1987) Mongolia (1994) Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan (1999). She has collaborated with choreographers / Paula Hampson / Emlyn Claid – writers Cris Cheek – story tellers Ben Haggarty – film makers Mike Figgis – theatre practitioners – Welfare State International / Nos Do Morro (Brazil) / IOU / Blood Group / Sadista Sisters – Music groups – Kahondo Style / Andy Sheppard / Slant / Dennis Rollins – opera – Jenni Roditi – Multi-cultural groups – Garam Masala (Pakistani)/ Noor Shimal (North African) / Tiana Razafi (Madagascan) in cross art form / site specific works.
Sianed is has just finished working as an Actress / Musician / Composer in The Royal Shakespeare Company’s History Season, transferring to The Round House London in April /May 2008, and is now collaborating with South Indian percussionist / composer Divakar Subranamiam on a Celtic/Asian fusion project.
Henrietta Hale
Henrietta has been producing and researching dance for theatre and screen since 1999. In 2002 she showed her first full-length evening of work at The Place Theatre including a duet with Rachel Lopez de las Nieta, On the road to… and her first collaboration with Sianed Jones In the Light of Lunar Sea.
Henrietta was commissioned for The Place Prize in 2004 with A cross and then across and in 2006 with Man or Fish.
As a dancer she has worked for theatre, film and installations predominantly with Rosemary Lee Projects, Ricochet Dance Productions (including productions by Fin Walker and Lucy Guerrin), Angela Woodhouse, Yolande Snaith Theatre Dance and in her early career for Russel Maliphant and Diversions Dance Company.
She has recently been choreographing in collaboration with visual artists, including 2 films for Daria Martin; Wintergarden – premiered at De La Warr Pavilion and presented at Tate Britain for 2006 Triennial and Loneliness and the Modern Pentathlon an art film premiered at Tate Modern and shown at The Serpentine Gallery 2006. Another collaboration was Alien a theatre piece directed with visual artist Matti Braun based on a script by Indian Director Satyajit Ray
